RADCUBE mission study phase

The Ministry of National Development, the Hungarian Space Office, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Centre for Energy Research and C3S LLC. presented the details of the CROSS satellite system and the RADCUBE mission in a mutual press conference on the 19th of May 2016 in the hall of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

The CROSS system (Cosmic Radiation Observatory Satellite System) designed by Hungarian researchers allows the participants of national and international space activities to ensure the safety of instruments and personnel sent into space far more accurately and effectively than ever. It allows academic researchers a more thorough examination of the Earth’s radiation environment and its behaviour.

The cornerstone of the system is the RADCUBE mission, the demonstration flight of the CROSS system’s first satellite. The program will be implemented under the aegis of the European Space Agency (ESA); the launch of the satellite is planned for the end of 2018. This unmatched national development proves that Hungarian innovation is amongst the world’s leaders even in the field of space activities.

Contract signed for conducting a feasibility study of a small-satellite payload controller

The European Space Agency (ESA) and C3S LLC has signed a contract to carry out a feasibility study of a small-satellite payload controller. The project will start on 01/07/2015. Our cooperating partner in the project is the University of Bologna, Department of Industrial Engineering.

Hungary is a cooperating state of ESA since 2003, thus we may take part in ESA programs through the PECS (Plan for European Cooperating State) program. On 24/02/2015 Hungary has signed the Accession Agreement to the ESA Convention.

ESA CubeSat Industry Days

C3S representatives will have the chance to hold a presentation about the on-going in-house CubeSat technology developments. The presentation is scheduled to be at Tuesday, 16 June 2015 around 11:45 CEST. Registration and timetable is available at the event’s website.

Hungary accedes to ESA Convention

History in the making: Today Hungary has signed the Accession Agreement to the ESA Convention. Presentations during the ceremony stressed the importance of the utilization of CubeSats in space industry, which is one of the main objectives of our company as well.

Feasibility study of a small satellite payload controller

We started coordination negotiations with the European Space Agency regarding a project to investigate the feasibility of a integrated payload controller and data processing subsystem. We expect that as a result of the project we will be tasked with the development of such a system.

Technical presentation about CubeSats in the UN COPUOS

Our management was granted the opportunity to hold a technical presentation in Vienna on the 52nd session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of UN’s COPUOS (Committee for the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space) on the opportunities for industrial utilization of picosatellites.

Prototype Design Review at ESTEC

We were received by the European Space Agency in Noordwijk to demonstrate the three small satellite technologies we developed: 3U CubeSat structure, On-board computer, and UHF band communication system. We presented demo models of the technologies.

We signed our first space industry contract!

We signed our first space industry contract! The customer is the European Space Agency (ESA); our company starts development of three satellite technologies in February. Hungary is a cooperating state of ESA since 2003, thus we may take part in ESA programs through the PECS (Plan for European Cooperating State) program. Our cooperating partners in the project are CAD-Terv Engineering Ltd. and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
